a quick jazz fest update

Hey everyone!

I’m super excited to spending jazz fest in Toronto for the very first time this year, and I’m doubly stoked about the fact that it combines with my week off. After kicking off the fest with Rudder and Catalyst last night, I’m SO looking forward to checking out these shows, which I will perhaps see you at:

Tuesday June 25 – Robert Glasper at the Horseshoe Tavern
Thursday June 27 – Hilario Duran Big Band and Heavyweights Brass Band, both at Nathan Philips Square; Ari Hoenig Quartet at the Rex
Friday June 28 – Brownman Electryc Trio CD release with Damian Erskine at May Cafe
Saturday June 29 – Brad Turner and Peggy Lee at the Rex
Sunday June 30 – TJO and Idioteque at the Rex

And once that’s all done, you can catch me in a few places before I head to Vancouver for a much needed visit home:

1) As usual, I’ll be playing Tatsu’s Tuesdays with Rob Chapman and Hayden Farrar, and Fridays with Scott Hunter and Dylan Moore, so come say hello if you’re in the neighbourhood!

2) The Chelsea McBride Group residency continues on July 4 with Scott Hunter & Tyler Goertzen subbing in for the fabulous duo of Brad Cheeseman and Noah Sherman. As always, Mark Sparling will be on guitar, making you very happy.

3) The SOCIALIST NIGHT SCHOOL is back in action! Check us out July 13 at 3:30 at the Rex 🙂

I’ll update with more info when I have a chance to sit down and do that, but for now – hope to see you out/around/enjoying the festival! 🙂
