it’s the most wonderful time of the year

It’s been a month since my last update, and things have been absolutely crazy – but now, all the chips are starting to fall into place and I’m really excited to announce a few upcoming gigs with some wonderful people:

First, the Chelsea McBride Group returns to Gate 403 on Wednesday, January 22 from 5-8pm! I’ll be playing some jazz standards with Dylan Moore and Hayden Farrar, and the best part is: no cover! Come in, say hello, grab a drink or stay for dinner; we’re looking forward to playing some tunes for you!

Just before that (and just after, I guess), I’ll be handling sax duties once again for the award-winning Brad Cheeseman Group for two shows: first, on January 14 at Placebo Space, and then on February 19 at Homegrown Hamilton. If you don’t believe they’re award-winning, listen to/download their EP here. (It’s free all month!)

DMDP is pumped to return to the spotlight on Friday, January 31 with Snaggle and Gotham City Drugstore at Lee’s Palace. There has been talk of mosh pit-craziness…and when was the last time you moshed to music with saxophones? You won’t want to miss this.

For something completely different, the fabulous Tom Upjohn has a tentet that he’s debuting on his birthday: February 28 at Placebo Space! I’ll be contributing a tune and playing tenor through the evening, as well as trying to remember what I did when I turned 19. (I’m pretty sure it wasn’t nearly as exciting.)

And last but not least, an update on my other projects: Chelsea and the Cityscape will be returning from our too-long and totally unintentional hiatus early this new year with a few shows that will be announced very soon. As for the Socialist Night School, we’ve now officially tracked the whole EP and are into post-production; we’ll be sure to let you know when you can get your hands on it.

There’s lots of exciting stuff lined up for 2014, and I can’t wait to share it all, so stay tuned! I wish you all a happy, healthy holiday season, and a great new year!
