Socialist album release, Cityscape returns, & more!

It’s been a long time since I’ve updated! Got some more really exciting news…two really big announcements first!

The Socialist Night School is releasing the recording we’ve been working on all fall/winter, and you’ll be able to get your hands on it on Saturday, May 17 – 3:30pm at the Rex! More details for the show will follow shortly, but stay tuned to this page – you’ll be able to preview the record sometime next month – we’re so excited to share it with you!

Chelsea and the Cityscape also returns for a little show at Placebo Space, Saturday March 22 at 9pm. We’ve got two sets for you & some new tunes, so come say hello! We’ll also be playing with Sarah Macrae & the Graham Ko Project at 3030 on April 24th; details for that will follow soon.

In other small news/places you can catch me coming up…

  • I’m playing some jazz tunes with Giovanni Campanelli & Robert Chapman at Habits Gastropub for Valentine’s Day! There’s a food/drink minimum but no cover, and we’ll be playing from 9pm-12am & taking requests for love songs. Details here.
  • I’ll be in Hamilton on Wednesday night (Feb 19) with the wonderful Brad Cheeseman Group at Homegrown Hamilton. We’re playing with our good friends Midcoast. If you like Chris Tarry, and jazz with electric bass, or either of those things separately or together, you should come check it out. Details here.
  • Thursday night (Feb 20), DMDP joins forces with MoZayic & Hamilton’s Altobeelays to turn the Central into a funk-fest. We promise to make you dance…details here.
  • Continuing the original music theme/a preview of March events: on March 2, I’ll be playing Placebo Space with Tom Upjohn’s Conundrum, playing their first show with a bunch of new music for large ensemble, including a new tune of my own. Details here, for both that show and the follow-up at 80 Gladstone.

As always, the Upcoming Gigs page has been updated, and I’ll be back posting some more exciting stuff soon. So, you know – stay tuned!
