an October preview

There`s a ton of really fantastic things that have been in the works for the past few weeks, so I wanted to make sure you get the inside scoop on what`s coming up…

First of all, don`t forget about (not in chronological order):

Chelsea and the Cityscape is playing at the Tranzac next Friday, October 3, and streaming it online with the help of Concert Window! We’re thrilled to be able to bring this show to your ears through the wonders of live-streaming, so be sure to tune in here, or come and check us out live – details here. (We’ll also be playing at the Emmet Ray on Monday, November 24, and would love to see you at that one as well!)

The Chelsea McBride Group continues our residency at the lovely Habits Gastropub on Friday October 10. Cover is $10, tunes go from 9-midnight. If you miss us this time, be sure to catch us next month – we’ll be back November 14!

Elton Joan and Friends makes our raucous debut at Jonathan’s Mediterranean Bistro this Saturday, September 27, playing your favourite tunes from the 70s – and of course, a lot of Elton John. Details/tickets available here!

And some new exciting announcements…

I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve just recently joined Spectrum Music as one of their artistic producers! To find out more about Spectrum Music and to see me in action, you can come check out Interface at Nuit Blanche, or head to our launch event at the Alliance Francaise (24 Spadina Road) from 6:30-10pm on Wednesday, October 8.

I’ve also just joined Find A Way as one of their clinicians, and will be running two workshops with them this month! I’ll be running a Composers’ Circle with them on Thursday October 9 at 7:30pm, open to anyone who writes music and wants to talk about it (theirs and others), and will be talking more about taking your pop songs and arranging them for a full band in the Introduction to Arranging workshop three weeks later – Thursday October 30 at 7:30pm, so be sure to come and check it out.

Chelsea McBride’s Socialist Night School returns to action to finish off Thanksgiving weekend! We’ll be playing at the Rex on Monday, October 13, and it would make us very happy to see you there. Details here. The Socialist Night School will also be playing at Gallery 345 in early December, so stay tuned for details on that one!

And of course, that’s not all I’m up to, so check out the Upcoming Gigs page for more places you can find me. See you at the show!
