The Twilight Fall CD release!

Today’s the day!

The Twilight Fall, the debut full-length album from Chelsea McBride’s Socialist Night School, is now available wherever you buy music online.

“…this is a record that deserves a full, focused, top-to-bottom listen to truly hear the depth of The Twilight Fall’s engaging story” — Randy Brecker

“…this disc puts Chelsea McBride and her Socialist Night School on the map as a new, exciting voice in the contemporary music world” — Daniel Jamieson

The Twilight Fall is the first Browntasauras Records and Orange Grove Publicity release of 2017, and could not have come together without the hard work of a lot of people, who I am so, so thankful for:

The album was produced under the keen oversight of Kevin Stolz & executive producer Brownman Ali, recorded at Revolution Recording Studios by Andre St-Denis of Bonneville Records, mixed by Nick Bonin, mastered by Nick Blagona at Psychotropic Studios, with cover art by Arthur Ikuta and liner notes by Daniel Jamieson.
Funding for preproduction was provided by the Toronto Arts Foundation & the Canada Council for the Arts, funding for the recording was provided by FACTOR (the Foundation to Assist Canadian Talent on Recording) and the Toronto Arts Council, and our CD release is a TD Discovery Series Special Project – the first of 2017!

(more about the band):

Chelsea McBride’s Socialist Night School is a Toronto, Canada based 19 piece modern jazz orchestra led by a fast-rising, 24 year old orchestration trail-blazer Chelsea McBride, whose melody driven big band compositions often mask the complexity of their internal structures. Award-winning veterans like William Carn, Colleen Allen and Brownman Ali stand next to the city’s hottest 20-somethings in this contemporary modern big band. Bandleader Chelsea McBride’s complex original compositions have been called “picturesque”, “cinematic” and “joyful” by media, and are influenced by the lineage of Bob Brookmeyer, Maria Schneider and Darcy James Argue. The Socialist Night School is a storytelling vehicle for McBride’s evocative writing style.
